Afridi Requests Fans to Keep Supporting Pakistan Team Despite Loss to India

MANCHESTER:  Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has spoken up about the "severe" criticism that the Pakistan team has been receiving on social media after their humiliating loss against India on Sunday.

The misfiring team, including captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, drew the ire of the fans due to their antics both prior to and during the match.

Afridi took to Twitter and weighed in on the subject, requesting the fans to keep supporting the team.

"After yesterday's defeat, the Pakistan cricket team is being severely criticised in our media. I only request that this team be backed despite the loss because when they win we are all together. If we also stay as one during a defeat then victory becomes inevitable. These are our stars and we should support them in every way possible."
