Imam-ul-Haq returns home from county championship due to his father's illness

Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq, who was representing Somerset, in the ongoing County Championship in England, has returned home due to his father's illness.

According to details, Imam won't be playing the County Championship match against Kent after his father suffered a heart attack a few days ago and the doctors have advised to undergo an operation.

The operation of Imam's father will take place today in a private hospital in Lahore.

Meanwhile, Somerset CCC Director of Cricket Andy Hurry has thanked Imam for his contributions for the club.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Imam for all his contributions both on and off the field since joining the Club. On behalf of all the players, staff and followers of Somerset County Cricket Club, we send our thoughts and support to Imam and his family at this time.”

The left-hander will not be able to play the first match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy too, he will likely play the second match of the tournament.
