England Face injury Concerns ahead of Semi-final Against India
The two players took part in a fitness test on Wednesday
ADELAIDE: England have faced injury concerns as batter Dawid Malan and pacer Mark Wood are doubtful for their side's T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final clash against India at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
Malan, who sustained a groin injury in his side's Super 12 clash against Sri Lanka, is unlikely to participate so far, while Wood complained of general body stiffness and stopped training on Tuesday.
"We don't have to make the decision immediately. We will give Dawid and Mark Wood as long as possible,"Jos Buttler said.
During the Poms' training session ahead of the high-octane clash, the two players underwent fitness tests under the supervision of England's strength and conditioning coach.
Wood, who recently returned to the side in the T20I series against Pakistan from an elbow injury, is more likely to be available.
However, the left-handed batter didn't bat against Sri Lanka and was not able to run at full tilt.
The England skipper also talked about the intensity of the game against India, saying that the game is such that it should inspire you.
"It is the type of game you want to be involved in. We know what it is like playing against India. You don't get to come down these roads that often, so it should inspire you," Buttler said.
England will face India in the second semi-final of the mega event at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.
